The Wandering Swordman

Title Page

The Wandering Swordsman examines cultural appropriation throughout mainstream media of the Japanese Samurai.
Kill Bill, Star-Wars, and many more films are influenced by Japanese Samurai without giving proper credit. Direct rip-offs of this idolized character are unacceptable. For this collection, the respect and resourcefullness of the Japanese culture is used as inspiration, creating “Imperfect Reflections” Throughout the work to represent those who appropriate as opposed to being inspired.

”R”AGING

Marc Jacobs has always been ahead of his time. Why doesn’t the brand engage in widely sustainable practices?
This collection brings Roger’s sustainability expertice to the Marc Jacobs brand. Exploring Gen Z consumers, a fear of aging is apparent. This collection is a literal representation of the ever-changing climate of the fashion industry.

Hysteria

Title Page

Hysterically wasteless.

Hysteria is inspired by the climate crisis we are facing, majorly caused by the fashion industry. By only utilizing already existing fabrics, trash, and other materials, the collection is negative in waste. Zero waste isn’t enough anymore, sustainability needs to be on our minds in every aspect of work, as it is in Roger’s.
